Key Features
Samsung states that its carbon block filtration reduces chlorine taste and odor, particulates, turbidity, cysts, lead, asbestos, benzene, atrazine, lindane, and other listed contaminants. The manufacturer notes that fluoride is not reduced.
The filter includes an authentication tag: when the tag is placed over the back of the provided magnet, green stripes are intended to appear for an authentic Samsung filter. Samsung also states that genuine filters are designed to work with compatible refrigerators to help avoid leak-related water damage.

Real-World Performance
Customer feedback commonly describes the filter as providing clean, fresh-tasting water and fitting compatible refrigerators well. Reviews also frequently mention straightforward replacement.
Experiences are not uniform. Checking compatibility and authenticating the filter may be particularly important.

Ease of Use and Maintenance
Samsung describes the HAF-CIN/EXP as easy to install and recommends replacing it every six months. Actual replacement timing can also depend on household water use and local water quality.
Before ordering, users should verify that their refrigerator is among the compatible Samsung models or uses the DA97-08006A-B system. The manufacturer lists compatibility with select French Door, Side-by-Side, and Bespoke units, including models in the RS267, RFS265, RS263, RS261, RFG293, and RF4287 lines.
Pros and Trade-Offs
Pros include genuine Samsung design, carbon block filtration, listed NSF certifications, an authentication feature, and compatibility focused on select Samsung refrigerators. The filter is intended to improve water taste by reducing chlorine taste and odor along with other listed contaminants.
The main trade-offs are the need for model-specific compatibility and routine filter replacement. It does not reduce fluoride, and customer reports indicate that installation results, leak resistance, and service life can vary.
Who This Product Is For
This filter is for owners of compatible Samsung refrigerators who want a Samsung-branded replacement filter for refrigerator water and ice. It is especially relevant for households seeking filtration that targets chlorine taste and odor, sediment-related particles, and the other contaminants listed by Samsung.
It is not a universal refrigerator filter. Shoppers should confirm their refrigerator model and filter system before installation, and those specifically seeking fluoride reduction should note that this filter does not provide it.
